How to configure your website's login with facebook feature for customers to create an account and login using their facebook account on your website.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Login to your facebook account and go to the following link https://developers.facebook.com/apps/.

  2. Click “Add a New App”.

  3. Click “WWW” or “Website” on the modal.

  4. Type in a name for the app. (Using your domain name is recommended), then click “Create New Facebook App ID”.

  5. Choose “Business” for the category then click “Create App ID”.

  6. Skip the “Setup SDK” this is built into the login page already so you do not need to add a script.  Enter your Site URL (https://store.yourwebsite.com) in the field then click on Next to proceed to “App Configuration”.

    1. Your storefront could be set to use a different subdomain which is controlled via an admin setting "Store Subdomain" i.e. www, print, promo - please be sure to add the subdomain your storefront is set to use or else the login feature will not work. We recommended just adding all possible url combinations as a precaution in case you ever decide to change "Store Subdomain" down the road.

  7. Skip down to “Next Steps” and click Skip to Developer Dashboard.

  8. Make the facebook app live

  9. On the Dashboard for your newly created app you will see an App ID and an App Secret Code.  You will need to make note of those to copy them to your admin section of your website.

  10. Open a new tab web browser tab and login to your admin panel.

  11. Navigate to Main Menu > Settings > Settings Categories > Integration Settings > Facebook

  12. In the settings enable the Facebook Login and then enter your Facebook App ID and Facebook App Secret and saving them.

  13. Check the storefront login of your website to verify that login with facebook is working.
